Jamie Simmonds recently joined the Molino Stewart/Water Technology team to provide his specialist expertise in helping disaster-affected communities across the Asia-Pacific region become more resilient to natural hazards. Following the flash flooding that devastated Grantham and the Lockyer Valley in 2011, Jamie worked with the Mayor and Council to ensure families were moving into new homes on higher ground surrounding Grantham within 12 months of the flood. The relocation of Grantham is widely regarded as one of the most successful examples of community relocation and managed retreat in the world.
