This forum is primarily for linear reserve managers including local councils and government agencies.
It focuses on the environmental management of linear reserves (roadsides, travelling stock reserves, rail corridors and utility easements) across NSW. Hosted by the NSW Roadside Environment Committee, the theme of the forum is ‘Linear Reserves: Linking People, Nature and Infrastructure’.
Keynote speakers have a mix of research and practical linear reserve experience.
Dr Peter Spooner of Charles Sturt University is a leading researcher into the environmental history and management of linear reserves in Australia. Mr Pat Connor is a civil engineer with a background in gas pipeline and road construction and brings a wealth of practical knowledge to issues around roadside vegetation management.
The day includes presentations on improving practices and case studies on themes including ‘Taking Stock’, ‘Systems and Data’, and ‘Innovation’. An interactive panel session will complete the day and allow participants to ask questions to the experts in the field.
